Catherine O\u2019Hara, who was best known for her roles in Home Alone, and later in the award-winning comedy series Schitt\u2019s Creek, has died. She was 71 years old at the time of her\u00a0death<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0actress<\/a>\u00a0played the role of Kate McCallister, mother of the mischievous Kevin McCallister in Home Alone. Audiences around the globe immediately fell in love with her performance.<\/p>\n

There are currently no confirmations as to what her cause of death was, but her manager has spoken to the\u00a0media<\/a>\u00a0and clarified that the actress has passed away after a \u201cbrief illness.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0reports<\/a>, the actress was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital just prior. Paramedics were called to her Brentwood, California, home on 4:48 a.m. Friday morning (January 30) for a medical aid call.
