A Slow Start Turns Into a Standout Night<\/h2>\n

Delinda Rood, from Rosemount, Minnesota, appeared on the November 4 episode alongside Justin Zamora of Palo Alto, California, and Shateria Smith of Chattanooga, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Rood, who described herself as an \u201cambivert,\u201d struggled early on. However, she quickly rebounded and delivered one of the episode\u2019s fastest solves.<\/p>\n

The game opened with no one solving the first toss-up, \u201cMy Game Face.\u201d Rood regained momentum by buzzing in on the second toss-up, \u201cPractical Joker,\u201d and pocketing $2,000.<\/p>\n

Competitors Score Big Wins<\/h2>\n

Zamora secured his own highlight moment by solving \u201cCandy Girl You Are My World.\u201d His win earned him $12,549 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Norway.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Smith \u2014 an author and entrepreneur \u2014 grabbed the coveted One Million Dollar Wedge after solving \u201cSummer & Boot Camp,\u201d adding $1,900 to her total.<\/p>\n

Rood Takes Control<\/h2>\n

When Smith faltered on the next puzzle, Rood jumped in. She solved \u201cSpoil Yourself At The Spa\u201d with only a few letters left, winning a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona, and raising her total to $10,950.<\/p>\n

She then dominated the triple toss-up round, solving two out of three puzzles. Smith captured the final one, but Rood\u2019s momentum remained unmatched.<\/p>\n

In the decisive round, she solved \u201cA Tough Nut To Crack,\u201d securing her place in the Bonus Round with $20,650. Zamora finished with $12,549, and Smith ended with $3,900.<\/p>\n

A Bonus Round for the Ages<\/h2>\n

For her final challenge, Rood selected the category \u201cAround the House.\u201d Her husband, Mark, and daughter, Molly, joined her on set as the board revealed the letters R, S, T, L, N, and E.<\/p>\n

She chose M, V, K, and A, which produced the puzzle:\u00a0_ARM _ _ _LT.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The clock had barely started when Rood confidently shouted, \u201cFor my mother-in-law, Warm Quilt!\u201d<\/p>\n

Seacrest looked stunned. \u201cYeah! Did you know it? Did you know it?\u201d he asked as the audience erupted.<\/p>\n

He then opened the prize envelope \u2014 revealing she had won an additional $45,000. That boosted her final total to an impressive\u00a0$65,650<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou didn\u2019t even have to think about it!\u201d Seacrest said, grinning.
